Prognostic impact of late gadolinium enhancement in patients with high-sensitivity troponin elevation and non-obstructive coronary arteries

چکیده
Background Troponin assays have an established role in the diagnosis and risk stratification of patients with acute coronary syndromes. The lack of an accurate diagnosis and the uncertain prognosis when obstructive coronary disease is absent represents a clinical challenge. We sought to describe the distribution of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) and its impact on hospital readmission and death in patients with raised high-sensitivity troponin T (hsTnT) not attributed to an acute coronary syndrome.

Relationship between Late Gadolinium Enhancement Extent in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Old Myocardial Infarction
Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...

متن کاملRole of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Acute Coronary Syndrome and Normal Coronary Arteries
Those patients who go to hospital with prolonged chest pain, elevation of cardiac enzymes and alterations in the electrocardiogram (ECG) are admitted with the initial diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). About 7% and 10% of these patients do not show significant coronary lesions and in many occasions establishing an accurate diagnosis is difficult (1). Sometimes, it is an acute myocardia...
متن کاملIdentification of High-Risk Patients After ST-Segment-Elevation Myocardial Infarction: Comparison Between Angiographic and Magnetic Resonance Parameters.
BACKGROUND The incidence of angiographic no reflow (NR) and microvascular obstruction (MVO) at cardiac magnetic resonance is significantly different. The aim of this study was to investigate the occurrence of NR and MVO in a cohort of consecutive patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneous coronary interventions. METHODS AND RESULTS In this prosp...
متن کاملST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction and Normal Coronary Arteries after Consuming Energy Drinks
The use of energy drinks, which often contain stimulants, is common among young persons, yet there have been few reports of adverse cardiac events. We report the case of a 27-year-old man who was admitted to our facility with an acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction in the setting of using energy drinks. Angiography revealed no obstructive coronary disease. The patient had elevation ...
